David Fincher’s ‘Girl With Dragon Tattoo’ Cast In Major Upset

Relative unknown Rooney Mara has taken out a massive underdog victory by landing the titular role as Asperger’s suffering computer hacking semigay Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher’s adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s best seller ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’. Mara won the much-coveted gig over bigger Hollywood players like Ellen Page, Sarah Snook and the Australian trio of Mia Wasikowska, Emily Browning and Sophie Lowe. In fact, so low is her profile that it wasn’t until scoping her IMDB profile for more info were we able to ascertain the correct sequence of her respective names.

It turns out Rooney Mara (not to be confused with Rooney, Mara) will feature in David Fincher’s other big action blockbuster ‘The Social Network’ as Mark Zuckerberg’s girlfriend, and in the forthcoming remake of ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ as the Nancy Thompson character. The ‘Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ role will no doubt afford her a huge amount of interest for future projects and mad pash time with Daniel Craig.

Fincher’s adaptation is slated for a December 21, 2011 release.
