David Cross & Bob Odenkirk’s New Netflix Sketch Series Gets A Trailer

Students of comedy/television/fun things all tend to froth over a tiny little show from the mid-90s called Mr. Show with Bob & David.

The sketch series featured a pair of – at the time – reasonably unknown performers by the name of David Cross and Bob Odenkirk.
Not only did it serve as the launching pad for both to go on to bigger and better things, it also provided an early career platform for comedians like Jack Black, Sarah Silverman, Paul F. Tompkins, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Brian Posehn, Scott Aukerman, and Dino Stamatopolous.
It was great. It was super great. And Cross and Odenkirk rightly went on to have stellar careers – Odenkirk in particular, after landing the role of Saul Goodman on Breaking Bad, and then later Better Call Saul.
Thanks to the almighty Netflix, Cross and Odenkirk are going back to their sketch show roots for W/ Bob & David.
The show drops all its episodes in one big go on November 13th, but ahead of that Netflix has premiered the debut trailer for the show.

Selling sketch shows in a trailer is always a pretty hard task, but there’s definitely enough whackadoo shit in here to suggest that it’s classic Cross/Odenkirk material.
If it winds up being even half as good as Mr Show was, it’ll be vital viewing.
And now, for no reason whatsoever, one of the greatest Mr Show sketches ever put to air.
