The team behind The Dark Crystal: Age Of Resistance have clearly put a lot of time and effort into getting the details right, and it shows. Netflix unveiled a new trailer for the prequel series today at Comic Con, and it seems they’ve truly managed to capture the look and feel of the original film.
The trailer features some behind-the-scenes footage, showing puppeteers and set designers in action, and also showcases a few key sequences from the series. We don’t want to say too much else about it, but the scope looks fittingly epic, and a few familiar faces from the 1982 film are back.

“The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance tells a new epic story, set many years before the events of the movie, and realized using classic puppetry with cutting edge visual effects. The world of Thra is dying. The Crystal of Truth is at the heart of Thra, a source of untold power. But it is damaged, corrupted by the evil Skeksis, and a sickness spreads across the land. When three Gelfling uncover the horrific truth behind the power of the Skeksis, an adventure unfolds as the fires of rebellion are lit and an epic battle for the planet begins.”
Fans at Comic Con got to see the first of the show’s ten episodes, but everyone else will have to wait until it debuts on August 30.
