Danny DeVito Is Thankful For That Weird Bathroom Shrine Dedicated To Him

Earlier this week, students at the State University of New York‘s Purchase College were surprised and delighted to discover that a hole in the wall of a campus bathroom, hidden behind a towel dispenser, concealed a shrine to none other than Danny DeVito.

Some students shared a video of themselves exploring the crevice, in which they found a small reproduction of the actor’s likeness, and a sign inviting them to “leave an offering for our lord and savior Danny DeVito, patron saint of trash men.”

The story of the shrine quickly went viral, and as word spread, DeVito himself caught wind of it. Overnight, he took to Twitter to offer his sincere and heartfelt gratitude to its creators, as well as a message about responsible waste management.

“Your shrine honors me,” he wrote. “My heart is filled with love and garbage. Tomorrow, as you may know, is my name day. Do something that makes you feel good. Above all be kind to each other. Pick up trash, recycle, and be aware of plastics in the ocean.”

STOP IT, YOU BEAUTIFUL MAN.

Vice claim to have tracked down the shrine’s original creator, a sophomore named Phillp Hosang, who said he felt that the actor would the “perfect person” to honour, as DeVito’s Always Sunny character Frank Reynolds is also known for his failed wrestling persona Trash Man.

Sadly, the garbage shrine was too beautiful for this world, and as of today, the powers that be at SUNY have closed off the hidden room for “safety reasons.” This pure and precious gift of trash will always remain in our hearts, though.
