Danny Boyle’s 127 Hours Trailer

Here’s your first look at Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire followup 127 Hours. Named, unfortunately, for the amount of time mountaineer Aron Ralston spent with his arm pinned beneath a boulder in some remote corner of Utah. If you’re a little hazy on that one…in 2003 Ralston made international headlines and the beginnings of a successful motivational speaking career when, after a mountaineering mishap pinned his right arm beneath a giant rock, he self-amputated his arm with the aid of a dull knife. He was trapped for five days, forced to drink his own urine and unable to contact anyone in that time. The perfect source material for Franco enthusiasts/detractors alike.

Says the official synopsis: 127 Hours is the true story of mountain climber Aron Ralston’s (James Franco) remarkable adventure to save himself after a fallen boulder crashes on his arm and traps him in an isolated canyon in Utah. Over the next five days Ralston examines his life and survives the elements to finally discover he has the courage and the wherewithal to extricate himself by any means necessary, scale a 65 foot wall and hike over eight miles before he is finally rescued.
