In a perfect world, there would be only one reality TV show, and it would be called Celebrity Sex Gladiators. It would have some of the DNA of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, some of the DNA of Married at First Sight, and a hefty dose of the DNA of American Gladiators. It would essentially be like Married at First Sight if all of the contestants were celebs, and if the ‘experiment’ also required the sort of physical challenges with foam weapons undertaken in American Gladiators. Unfortunately, we do not have Celebrity Sex Gladiators yet. For now, we make do with Married at First Sight, which doesn’t have any physical combat (for the most part), but does have enough emotional drama to last anyone a lifetime.

This week, the couples are visiting the homes of the pretend-husbands, which for some involves confrontations with wary parents, but for Cyrell involved only confrontation with a dog’s butthole. I’m not really sure what goes through the mind of a producer when they decide to dedicate a chunk of an episode to the washing of a dog’s butthole, but this is 100% what we got this evening.
As Cyrell tells the camera, she is not a big animal fan. She’ll be nice to pets but she thinks they smell and doesn’t really like them that much. Nic, on the other hand, does like animals, most his dog, Buddy, who apparently needed a wash.

Largely this consisted of Nic coercing Cyrell to wash Buddy’s ass, which she did, although hesitantly:
Eventually, she found the strain too much, literally running away from the scene to stand and stare contemplatively, like someone who got a distant glimpse of Cthulhu.
