Beloved sad people sitcom Community is coming back for a sixth season on streaming service Yahoo, but with the new episodes will come a pretty significant cast shake-up.
IGN report that Paget Brewster – who once came between Joey and Chandler on Friends – will play a hardass management consultant sent to whip Greendale into shape, and presumably also to romance Jeff.
Keith David, who voices the Flame King on Adventure Time, will join the cast as a retired scientist named Elroy, likely filling the grumpy old man role vacated by Chevy Chase and Jonathan Banks.
Who does that leave from the original cast? Donald Glover left Community halfway through its last season, and Yvette Nicole Brown recently bowed out to spend more time with family.
Joel McHale, Alison Brie, Danny Pudi and Gillian Jacobs are all returning. Supporting players Jim Rash and Ken Jeong will be back as Dean Pelton and Senor (or whatever he’s called these days) Chang.
The new episodes begin filming this week, and will stream on Yahoo early next year. Who knows how many of these people will be left by the time we get to that prophecised movie?
