Clearly Fake Ryan Gosling Picks Up ‘La La Land’ Prize At German Awards Show

Even as America deals weeks later with the colossal stuff-up that was the Best Picture announcement at this year’s Oscars, it’s important to remember that no matter how insane it was, Europe can and will outdo it.

At the German film awards Goldene Kamera – which is largely German-focused but often gives awards to international acts – a clearly fake Ryan Gosling showed up onstage to collect a prize for La La Land. The man looks nothing like Gosling, and he also has an incredibly thick German accent.
You can gauge the realness of his interpretation by Colin Farrell‘s reaction.
It was very weird. The fake Gosling showed up on stage to general confusion, and spoke. “Good evening, I am Ryan Gosling,” he says in his prominent German accent. “I dedicate this award to Joko and Klass, thank you very much. There is a saying in Hamburg, which is, ‘bye bye!’”

Just watch it:
Turns out the fake Gosling is actually a cook from Munich named Ludwig Lehner, and that the prank was orchestrated by German comedians Joko Winterscheidt and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf.
Apparently, these clowns set up a fake agency which promised they could guarantee a Gosling appearance if he received an award. Obviously the organisers went for it hard. According to Fox News, the producers have ordered a complete review of security procedures after the event and the host’s sheepish apology.
