Foy, who starred as Queen Liz in season 1 and 2 of The Crown, will apparently appear in a flashback scene. I mean, it must be a flashback scene – unless Lizzy invented time travel and told no one about it.

The absolute gossip mongers at Daily Mail snapped a picture of Foy on set in very Queen Liz attire, recreating the royal’s 21st birthday speech. Netflix recently confirmed it’s currently filming season 4. You can check out the snap right here. The piccie shows Foy dressed in a white dress and pearl necklace.

We’ll let you know if more… official pictures come to light.

In the meantime, the Daily Mail also sent fans into an absolute fit last week when they reported the great Imelda Staunton will replace Olivia Colman as Lizzy in season 5 and 6. The headline went far and wide so Netflix actually responded to the claims and denied the entire thing. Still, once a name’s out there, it’s out there.

“We are currently filming season 4 of The Crown but have not commissioned any further seasons as yet, therefore any news on casting remains pure speculation,” Netflix said.

Season 3 of The Crown, which flashes forward to the 1960s and 1970s, is available on Netflix now.

It co-stars a whole slew of big names including Helena Bonham Carter as Princess MargaretTobias Menzies as The Duke of EdinburghJosh O’Connor as Prince CharlesErin Doherty as Princess AnneBen Daniels as Lord SnowdonJason Watkins as Prime Minister Harold Wilson, and Charles Dance as Lord Mountbatten.
