Your Monday wouldn’t be complete without a ‘Child Star Who Is Now Completely Mad’ yarn, and I am more than willing to give one to you. No, don’t thank me. This is what I do.
Susan Olsen, who played Cindy Brady on the extremely wholesome The Brady Bunch, has been booted from her professional talk radio gig on LA Talk Radio after unleashing a homophobic rant on one of her show’s listeners.
Basically, Olsen was the host of a show called Two Chicks Talkin’ Politics – which sounds lovely, by the way – where she’s carved out a zone as the programme’s resident Trump fanatic. A listener, who wasn’t a fan of the Trump mania, posted a Facebook status which he later deleted, but Olsen herself captured for posterity:
Turns out “little piece of human waste” wasn’t the worst thing she hurled at the bloke. He screencapped some of the private messages Olsen sent to him, which are essentially the height of civil and polite discourse:
Lovely. After that little outburst, LA Talk Radio announced that they had fired Olsen. There’s a bunch of ‘free speech’ types getting het up in the comments, but seriously – sending weirdly abusive DMs to someone isn’t quite the same as being a Trumpoid on the air.
