Chris Hemsworth Had To Endure Constant Belly Rubs When Shooting ‘Endgame’

Chris Hemsworth

Chris Hemsworth has spoken about the weird experience of shooting Avengers: Endgame in a prosthetic suit, saying that he was subjected to near-constant belly rubs on set.

As you may recall, after he and his mates fail to save the world from the effects of the Thanos snap, Thor retreats to New Asgard, where he grows his beard and lets himself go.

Speaking with The Daily Telegraph, Hemsworth said that people on the shoot constantly wanted to touch his fake belly, leading to some very “strange” days at work.

He explained:

“It weighed around 40kg so it was very heavy. It’s a silicon sort of prosthetic suit with a zip at the back, and at any moment people would come up and rub my stomach. I know how my wife feels now when she was pregnant!”

He want on to say, of the changes to the character:

“I had weights in my wrist and my ankles to make me move differently, but I enjoyed the transformation and freedom to do whatever I wanted with the character.”

At the end of Endgame, a newly re-energised Thor blasted off for new adventures with the Guardians Of The Galaxy. They themselves will be getting a third stand-alone film in years to come, although it’s unclear how and to what extent Chris Hemsworth will be involved.

He has hinted that he’d be down to appear in an Asgardians Of The Galaxystyle movie, and has said he would “love” to play the god of thunder again, so I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
