In our very first look at Captain America in the untitled Avengers 4 film, Chris Evans’ beard has disappeared as if banished by a snap of Thanos‘ fingers.

Evans posted the new look to Twitter yesterday and apart from the naked chin, there’s also shorter hair, a fresh as hell uniform from the old days – at least that’s what I think it is – and a very adorable dog named Dodger.
Evans rescued Dodger earlier this year and they’ve been inseparable ever since.

The caption itself – “Senior year” has unfortunately reminded fans that this could be Evans’ final hurrah as the beloved superhero. Cast your minds back to April, when Evans still had his Broadway pornstache, and you might remember the buzz he caused after talking about the end for his character and fellow Avengers.
The actor told the panel on Good Morning America:
“A lot of our contracts are through. Myself, [Robert] Downey Jr., [Chris] Hemsworth, we all started roughly at the same time, and yeah I think we all through ‘Avengers 4’ kind of wrap it up.”
“At this point I don’t know what’s next — but by 2019, that’s it.”
WELP.
Although when asked whether or not Captain America will appear in any more standalone films or whatnot, Evans said: “We’ll see, we’ll see”.
As for the new beardless look, fans took to their Twitters to express their… disappointment…
