Have A Listen To A Duet Chris Cornell Recorded With His Daughter Before His Passing

As you will have noticed from the plethora of social media posts by US folk, yesterday was Father’s Day in America.

Among the loads of celebrities who paid tribute to their dads was the daughter of late Soundgarden vocalist Chris Cornell who sadly passed away by suicide in May 2017.

His 13-year-old daughter Toni Cornell took to her late father’s YouTube channel to share a special duet they recorded together before his passing, accompanied by the following heartfelt caption:

“Daddy, I love you and miss you so much. You were the best father anyone could ask for. Our relationship was so special, and you were always there for me. You gave me courage when I didn’t have any.”

“You believed in me when I didn’t. I miss your love everyday. Recording this song with you was a special and amazing experience I wish I could repeat 100 times over and I know you would too. Happy Father’s Day daddy, nothing compares to you.”

In August of last year, Toni performed a cover of ‘Hallelujah’ by Leonard Cohen alongside One Republic on ABC’s Good Morning America as a tribute to her father and late rocker Chester Bennington, who delivered the same song at Cornell’s funeral and also died by suicide in July 2017.
