Choice Cuts: 2011 National Play Festival

Reclaiming what’s rightfully theirs from the likes of Tasmania and Brisbane, The National Play Festival crash-lands in Parramatta this March with a boatload of future David Williamsons in tow. The festival will be showcasing the best new script-penning talent from across this great brown land, giving you a head-start on all the names in the theatre world that you should probably know by now.

With international guests, musicals workshops and Press Play, a true exercise in spontaneous acting, there’s a lot of awesome to get involved with. If that’s too much, keep it simple and take your pick from Fine Draft, which includes brand new works from the AFI winners and up-and-coming playwrights alike and playing at various times throughout the festival period. Single tickets are less than it costs for a 3-D movie, and we don’t need to remind you that stage actors are indeed 3-dimensional. Do we?
