Chloe Grace Moretz Quits Her Upcoming Movies To Take Some Chloe Time

That distant screaming you hear is the sound of me, screaming, because Chloe Grace Moretz has announced that she intends to drop out of all her forthcoming movies to take some much-needed Chloe time.
Moretz, a delicate dandelion clock that was enchanted by fairy magic and took human form circa 1997, made the announcement at the Deauville American Film Festival in France, where she received the Rising Star Award.
The actress said that she experienced a “come to Jesus” moment after shooting two films back-to-back – the drama Brain On Fire, co-starring Carrie-Anne Moss, and the thriller November Criminals, alongside Ansel Elgort.
She later told the Hollywood Reporter:
“… I pulled the plug on all my movies because I want to reassess who I am and find myself within my roles again. I’m realising that I can slow down.”
The prolific 19-year-old, who has dozens of film credits to her name, will instead focus on producing, and plans to shop several TV shows around in the near future.
The real, burning question is what will happen to Moretz’s lead role in Universal and Working Title Films‘ upcoming live-action adaptation of of The Little Mermaid.
The film has had a troubled history already, with original director Sofia Coppola dropping out of the project due to artistic differences, and script-writing duties handed to Love Actually‘s Richard Curtis around the same time Moretz was casting announced.
Someone’s probably scrambling to put together a press release about that as we speak, and we’re figuratively dying to find out what the hell’s going on.
