Fumero announced the news on Twitter, via a throwback to season one.
“Not knowing if we’d be back, I had the cast sign a poster for me, @chelseaperetti wrote the best passage and thus our ‘lovers’ nickname was born.
“Can’t wait for you all to see her back on #Brooklyn99 in my directorial debut this Thursday!! #DamnGina”
That’s Friday on SBS for us.
The poster reads: “You R my lover, and friend. Stay connected.”

Nine-Nine co-star Stephanie Beatriz (Rosa Diaz) made her directorial debut earlier in the season on episode eight – He Said, She Said.
Peretti exited the 99th precinct back in March after revealing she wouldn’t be working a full season. At the time, both the comedian and Nine-Nine showrunner Dan Goor hinted it wouldn’t be the last time we’d see the absolute savage on the show.
“I mean, she got run over by a frickin’ bus, and she only missed like a week of work,” Goor teased.
Look at her now.
