Channing Tatum & Jenna Dewan Tatum Are Serving A ‘Step Up’ Series Online

Fans of belligerently talented & attractive humans and fledgling streaming services, rejoice!

As part of YouTube Red’s attempt to catch up to the other already-huge players in online streaming, the new service has commissioned bona fide polymaths Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum to executive produce a Step Up series.

The sweaty, balletic project will leap forth from the titular film series – the very same one that brought those two blessed humans together in the first place, all the way back in 2006.

It’ll be Youtube Red’s first big-bucks drama offering, and the bigwigs involved are quite understandably stoked on the entire concept. Their head of original content Susanne Daniels said that since dance is already a rock-solid genre on YT, having some high-quality telly built around the series is a pretty obvious move.

The project joins a handful of original series YouTube Red has already pumped out, including Scare PewDiePie, which does exactly what it says on the tin, and shows from established YouTube heavy-hitters like Rooster Teeth and Fine Brothers.

Tatum will presumably be working on the project when he’s not busting his guts on those two Magic Mike stage shows and a Harvard course, and y’all can expect that acrobatic goodness to burst forth sometime next year.
Of course, since there’s no word on whether the pair will actually make their way to the other side of the camera on this one, you may feel inclined to just smash this on repeat. Thanks, YouTube.
