Channing Tatum and Rooney Mara Pop Pills For Steven Soderbergh’s ‘Side Effects’

After killing off The Goop, hanging out with his magic wang out and making sure he got the full girlfriend experience, Steven Soderbergh now turns his super stylish lens to the label on the side of the bottle in Side Effects.

The girl with the worst adjustment skills, Rooney Mara, takes centre stage in Side Effects, a psychological thriller that centres on Mara’s Emily and her anxiety issues surrounding the release of her husband from prison. Perpetually slimy handsome creep Jude Law stars as her pill-enabling shrink, someone gets murdered in a bathroom, there are warning label puns (“In some instances, death may occur“) and Catherine Zeta Jones does her best to convey psych-smarts by sporting a pair of thick-rimmed specs. Bookish! All this and I haven’t even begun to scratch the surface of Channing Tatum’s meteoric rise to fedora wearing Soderbergh muse!

Side Effects looks like a good time thriller straight out of the nineties and is due in cinemas by February next year.
