One cat. A goofy camera effect. A camp barbershop classic. Combine these three elements and you have TikTok’s platonic ideal, as discovered by a Canadian teen whose recent post on the social media platform has gone ballistic.

BuzzFeed News reports Jade Taylor-Ryan recruited her four-year-old cat Ed for the clip, which was posted on the platform a few days back. It’s very good.
There’s every chance you’ve already seen user @jade13tr’s masterpiece – in addition to the video’s climbing views on TikTok, the clip has been seen by millions more on Twitter – but that’s no reason not to watch it again. And if you haven’t yet seen it, clap your eyes on it now:
Despite her video not being the first to utilise The Chordettes‘ Mr Sandman and the nine-camera effect, it has spawned waves of imitators who’ve recruited their own pets for semi-viral copies.
While many are good in their own right, none have quite captured the magic of the original. We think it’s down to the little arm waves at the end.

Alright, that’s enough joy and mirth for a Monday. Back to work.
