As you may already know, legendary sitcom Will & Grace will be returning to screens on September 29. It’s safe to say that we are very, very excited about this.
In honour of Grace (Debra Messing), Will (Eric McCormack), Jack (Sean Hayes) and Karen (Megan Mullally) returning to the show that instilled in everyone a love of all things Fabulous, the cast has reunited on the set of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform a musical number: their very own theme song, only this time, with lyrics.
That burbly lounge piano riff actually translates pretty well into a show-tune number, particularly when you’ve got a posse of backup dancers doing their best 90s jazz/contemporary fusion. Also anything Megan Mullally does obviously turns immediately to gold.
Despite the fact that Fallon needlessly inserts himself at the halfway point (can the man restrain himself from making everything about him just once?), this is an extremely welcome reminder that we get to settle into the loving, nostalgic embrace of the late 90s in just under a week. Bless you, NBC.
