We thought it might be true. We so badly wanted it to be true. And now it is true.
Carrie Fisher has confirmed that her ‘Star Wars’ co-star Harrison Ford put his Skywalker in her Tauntaun back in the day – and it lasted for three bloody months.
Now 60, Princess Leia blows the whistle on her 19-year-old self’s illicit affair with the then-married father in her forthcoming book, The Princess Diarist, which fts. excerpts from a diary she kept of their dalliance.
Ford was 34 when they met on the London set of the blockbuster sci-fi classic, and she says the old dog seduced her after she got ”wine sodden” and he offered to drive her home.
But if you’re imagining he sent her to another galaxy with his talents in the bedroom, think again: Fisher says he was a dud in bed but she forgave him because “he really was handsome.”
She doesn’t remember much more about their three-month tryst, though, because of – and this has to be one of the most amazing quotes from an celebrity memoir – “the brutal strength of Harrison’s preferred strain of pot.”
Fisher also cops to trying “relentlessly” to make him love her, fantasising that he would ask her to marry him and give her a “gold band with diamonds (inscribed) ‘Carrison”, but he returned to first wife Mary Marquardt and their two sons when the movie wrapped in 1977.
Their marriage ended shortly after but, as Fisher wrote, they divorced “for reasons having nothing whatsoever to do with me.”
Regardless, this makes the continued sexual tension between them in ‘Episode VII – The Force Awakens’ that much better.
