Cardi B Is Down To Play Fran Drescher’s Daughter In A Reboot Of ‘The Nanny’

Cardi x Fran

Cardi B is absolutely down to play Fran Fine‘s daughter if the telly gods ever decide to green light the reboot of the iconic sitcom, The Nanny.

The artist’s name was put on the table by none other than Miss Fine’s actor (ten points to you if you read that in Mr Sheffield‘s voice) Fran Drescher herself earlier this week during an appearance on PeopleTV’s Chatter.

Drescher said she’s bloody keen for the sitcom to be rebooted:

“I don’t know what is going on with some of these networks out there because they do not seem to be hip to the fact that there’s an obsession amongst millennials for the show and moi!”

I mean, she’s not wrong.

Anywhoo, Drescher explained that the idea came to her after she saw Cardi wear a ‘Fran Drescher’ inspired ensemble a few weeks ago.

Cardi had worn head-to-toe leopard print at the Dolce & Gabbana show at Milan Fashion Week.

“Fran Drescher in @dolcegabbana.”

“I was so flattered,” Drescher told Chatter, “I just thought she paid homage to me wearing animal print and said ‘Fran Drescher.’

“And then I got my juices flowing and thought, ‘Wait a minute, she’s from New York, we both have funny voices, she could be my daughter!’”

Safe to say, Cardi’s on board.

The 26-year-old posted a comparison of the two queens on her Instagram with the caption: “I’M WITH IT !!!!! This makes me so happy cause I love her.”

Back in June, Drescher first told Entertainment Weekly that she had been in talks for a possible ‘The Nanny’ reboot with her co-creator and ex-husband Peter Marc Jacob.

As for Miss Fine’s character twenty years later?

“She would’ve maybe gotten involved in more things [that] Fran Drencher is involved with. All kinds of things from environmental issues, to health, to civil liberties, that’s what I think Fran would be doing now – opening her big Queens mouth for the greater good.”

The Nanny celebrates its 25th anniversary of the premiere this year.

P.S

BIG MOOD.
