Caitlyn Jenner Says Kris “Mistreated” Her While They Were Married

Further details of the Vanity Fair cover story on Caitlyn Jenner came to light overnight, and according to reports in Hollywood Life, the piece reveals some lingering tension between Caitlyn and former wife Kris Jenner.
In a development that may or may not come as a heck of a surprise to anybody who ever watched Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Caitlyn claimed that the success of the show changed the dynamic of the marriage:
“The first 15 years I felt [Kris] needed me more because I was the breadwinner. Then, really around [the time of Keeping Up With The Kardashians], when that hit and she was running the whole show and getting credit for it and she had her own money, she didn’t need me as much from that standpoint … I think in a lot of ways she became less tolerant of me. A lot of times she wasn’t very nice. People would see how I got mistreated. She controlled the money, all that kind of stuff.”
Vanity Fair also spoke to Kris, who gave her own version of events:
“He was married to me and he wasn’t who he wanted to be so he was miserable … All I was doing was working very hard for my family so that we could all have a wonderful future, and he was pissed off. At the end of my relationship with Bruce, he definitely had a lot of social anxiety … That was one of the reasons we were in a struggle at the end.”
Of the couple’s divorce, Kris told the magazine that Caitlyn’s approach was “the most passive-aggressive thing I think I’ve ever experienced.”
Caitlyn has also revealed that she felt an “affinity” with her new name but went back and forth on whether to spell it with a ‘C’ or a ‘K’. She eventually decided on the former, to distance herself from the plethora of ‘K’ names in the Kardashian klan.
