It looks like Caitlyn Jenner is the latest name to join the celebrity version of Big Brother after she touched down in Sydney this week. And isn’t that just fan-bloody-tastic? Another person with shitty views on mainstream TV. Yay!
Big Brother VIP will be hosted by Sonia Kruger and is slated to start filming at the end of August (COVID-willing).
Sources told News Corp’s Confidential that Jenner is tipped to join the house, however Channel 7 has yet to comment on casting. So take this with a grain of salt.
Jenner previously competed on the UK’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here in 2019, as well as the American Masked Singer earlier this year.
When she’s not dabbling in reality TV, she’s running for governor of California. She also likes to go on TV and say things like how it was easier to come out to her family as trans, than as a Republican candidate.
So what’s the go with the Big Brother VIP cast? I don’t know! But if the rumours are true, then Neil Patrick Harris has apparently been cast on the show as well.
This is all according to Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald and Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli, who were discussing the cast on Nova 96.9 this morning with co-host Sarah McGilvray.
Harris had flown Down Under to be a judge on Australia’s Got Talent 2021, but production was shut down due to the latest COVID-19 outbreak in Sydney. So the actor and his family ended up flying home after completing mandatory hotel quarantine.
So wait – did Harris fly to Australia, then back to the US, then back to Sydney again for Big Brother VIP? That seems… excessive? Whether or not NPH will actually appear on the show remains a mystery.
A very close source to the series also told the radio show that former Married At First Sight contestant Jessika Power is locked in to enter the house. Now this checks out.
Big Brother VIP will be shot at Sydney Olympic Park and will premiere on Channel 7 later this year. We’ll let you know when there’s more (official) news about the celebrity cast / a release date.
