Anyone who lived through the early 2000s has been asked the question “Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera?”.
How someone responded to this question would tell you a lot about them as a person.
If they said ‘Britney’ they probs identified as a semi good-girl with a penchant for attending costume parties in a sexy school uniform.
If, however, they answered ‘Christina’ (or, Xtina, for the true fans), they’re definitely a little more badass.
So when Britney’s boyfriend, Sam Asghari, gave his fans the opportunity to ask him questions over Instagram Stories, it was only a matter of time before some smart alec chucked this question his way. And that’s exactly what happened.

But rather than just showing support for his bae, by responding ‘Britney, obvs’, Sam took the opportunity to go and throw some shade at Christina:
In response, Sam got all sassy and wrote “Christina who?”
Wowwwwwww. Okay dude, that was just unnecessary. ALSO, this sounds very rich considering 98% of people have no bloody idea who Sam Asghari is.
Christina Aguilera = iconic household name.
Sam Asghari = Um, some guy who’s dating Britney – no idea what he does though.
Now, for those of you sitting there wondering ‘maybe there’s bad blood between Britney and Christina, meaning Sam just responded in a super protective way?’, that really doesn’t seem to be the case.
Back in September, Xtina came out on Jimmy Kimmel Live and said that their rumoured ‘rivalry’ was just a load of BS:
“When I was coming up, it was very obvious, you know, me and Britney were definitely…there was the Britney-Christina considered rivalry thing. If we had social media back then, we would have probably done a song together and just squashed it.”
When Jimmy suggested it wasn’t too late for the gals to release their own collab track, Xtina sounded hella keen:
“Hey, I’m down,” she said. “If her reps say OK…”

In short, Britney and Xtina sound like they might be on the brink of an iconic collab, so if Sam could STFU and let this happen, that’d be great.
