Well fuck, a judge has denied Britney Spears‘ request to remove her father, Jamie Spears, from her conservatorship AGAIN.
Court documents obtained by E! News show that a Los Angeles Superior Court judge denied a month-old request by Spears’ attorney, Samuel Ingham III, to have Jamie Spears dropped as sole conservator.
“The conservator’s request to suspend James P. Spears immediately upon the appointment of Bessemer Trust Company of California, N.A. as sole conservator of estate is denied without prejudice,” the document read.
However, it should be noted that this court decision was not made in direct response to Spears’ testimony last week. According to Variety, the judge cannot make a ruling based on that testimony until Britney Spears has filed a petition to terminate her conservatorship.
Speaking at a court hearing last Friday, Spears said that for 13 years she was under what she describes as an “abusive” conservatorship.
Throughout the nearly-30 minute speech to Judge Brenda Penny, the Piece of Me singer said she wants the conservatorship removed, so she can get married and have a baby of her own accord.
“I have an IUD in my body right now that won’t let me have a baby and my conservators won’t let me go to the doctor to take it out,” Spears said. “I wanna be able to get married and have a baby.”
More than that, Spears has completely lost any autonomy under the conservatorship. She says she was forced to work her four-year Las Vegas residency, despite telling management that she didn’t want to do it.
“When I said no to one dance move in rehearsals, it was as if I planted a huge bomb somewhere,” she said in the testimony.
“Ma’am I’m not here to be anyone’s slave, I can say no to a dance move.”
When she didn’t cooperate, she says she was then forced to take lithium.
Jamie Spears has now asked the courts to launch an investigation into the “abusive” claims his daughter has made about the conservatorship.
