You Horny Bastards Did It: Bridgerton Is Officially Netflix’s Biggest Series Of All Fkn Time

Your favourite Ye Olde show, Bridgerton, has officially beaten out all other Netflix shows, Ye Olde or otherwise, as the biggest fucking show EVER.

Deadline reports that the series smashed Netflix’s viewership records, having been watched by a record 82 million households around the world.

That reportedly equals to 19M households higher than what the streaming giant had predicted the show would rake-in, as revealed in a four-week projection issued by Netflix 10 days into the show’s release. At the time, the show was the streamer’s fifth biggest launch in history, but its growing popularity has earned it the top slot.

It beat out previous record-holder, The Witcher starring Henry Cavill, which clocked in 76M in its first 28 days.

The series celebrated the landmark victory in a video where they thanked fans for tuning in to the wild-ass period drama.

The series was created by Shondaland based on Julia Quinn’s novels, which ranked #1 in 83 countries including the US, UK, Brazil, France, India and South Africa, and made the top 10 in every country, sans Japan.

It’s ‘yuge success has led to the announcement of season 2, so bring on more horny entertainment.

“I think the show really provides an incredible escape for audiences at a time where that’s exactly what’s needed,” creator and Shondaland legend Chris Van Dusen said last week when the second season was first announced.

Bridgerton is this lavish, vibrant, steamy Regency love story; it is about romance, love and joy; I think all of those things are really universal themes people are responding to.”

Production on the hotly anticipated (emphasis on HOT) second season will kick off later this year and will chart the eldest Bridgerton sibling, Anthony, played by Jonathan Bailey, on the hunt for a suitable partner.

Bridgerton season 1 is now streaming on Netflix.
