Weddings make people crazy, I’ve decided. Absolutely, positively batshit. So this story about a Melbourne bride asking a guest to cover their tattoos and dye their hair for the sake of the ceremony theme does not shock me at all.

Of course, the guest in question took to one of those Facebook wedding shaming groups with the alleged texts from the bride, and has promptly gone viral. With good reason – this is quantifiably unhinged and if you are a bride or groom, do not do this to your guests.
Basically, the bride texted this guest about her hair – which was blue – and her tattoos, saying they clashed with the theme of the wedding. IDK how many guests this person is having but let me tell you lady, you’re gonna have people showing up in some questionable fashion so I think tatts/blue hair are the least of your aesthetic issues but sure, OK.
Things went downhill real quick.
Then we get onto the “your money issues aren’t my problem”, to which I say “well your decision to have some sort of extremely niche theme for your wedding is also not my problem”.
Hooooooo boy. Also what is “your (sic) very pretty normally”????? WHAT THE SHIT NOW? That is the most backhanded compliment of backhanded compliments. I don’t even know if it’s even a compliment at all, really. Anyway – the lesson here is, when you send absolutely nutso messages to your wedding guests, you’d best believe you’re going to end up on all media outlets nation-wide. Globally, even.
