Brazen Criminal Thumbs Nose At Law, Films Self Downloading Dallas Buyers Club

Far into the future, in the year 2015. Society as we know it has collapsed, devolving into a lawless, post-apocalyptic wasteland. A totalitarian Government has clamped down on the free movement of people, using advanced technology and shady laws to track people’s every move – where they go, who they talk to, what they look at.

Everything the light touches is converted to data and stored to feed the nation’s central ruling system – the Behavioural Retcon Archive for National Defence and Investigative Services, or B.R.A.N.D.I.S.

People live largely in fear. Fear of their own Government who refuses to yield their power. Fear of prying eyes presiding over their entire lives. Fear of a future where free movement is restricted by the whims of a handful of powerful corporations, who buy and sell influence over legislation to suit their own profitabilty.
But one man, a lone wolf, risks his own health and safety to thumb his nose at the Powers That Be. Taking to the underground and using the resources of a network of likeminded rogues, he thumbs his nose at the Government by making a defiant statement.
He turns on his video camera, and – despite all the risks associated – he films himself committing the most illegal act he can think of.
He illegally downloads Dallas Buyers Club.

Not only is this a hilarious idea in and of itself, it’s also a brilliant indictment on Australia’s internet infrastructure. Because the video is TWO AND A HALF HOURS LONG.
Bravo, you brave soul; you Soldier of Fortune.
When you fall – and fall you will – your fate will light a fire in the hearts of millions.
Viva la resistance!
