Brad Pitt & Leo DiCaprio Will Star In A Film Together For The Very First Time

It’s taken a long-ass time to happen, but here it is: Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio will be starring alongside each other in a feature film for the very first time. And you’ve all got Quentin Tarantino to thank for it.

Thirst radars across the globe are currently being sent into overload thanks to todays confirmation that Pitt and DiCaprio have both officially signed on to star in Tarantino’s upcoming flick, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the news a short time ago, with the Hollywood heavyweight duo to star alongside each other in Tarantino’s ninth full-length feature film.

Pitt and DiCaprio have shared the screen previously, taking roles in Martin Scorsese‘s prohibitively expensive 2015 casino-promoting short film The Audition, but this would be the first time the duo has taken to screen together for a fully-fledged feature.

The new Tarantino film is set in 1969, focusing on what the director calls a version of “LA and a Hollywood that don’t exist anymore.”

DiCaprio is set to fill the role of Rick Dalton, a former star of a western TV series, with Pitt playing Cliff Booth, Dalton’s long-time stunt double. The duo will reportedly be struggling with a version of Hollywood they don’t recognise anymore, with the added twist of Dalton’s neighbour being Sharon Tate – she of the infamous Manson Family murders.

Given Pitt and DiCaprio’s price tags, the film will not be cheap, and negotiations to get the two on board were prickly to say the least; at one stage DiCaprio had reportedly all-but flipped the bird at the production.

However, with both on board things are moving ahead at a clip, and the film even has an initial release date set: August 9th, 2019.

Whether it makes it that far is anyone’s guess at this stage, but for now, set your thirst radars to froth.
