Brad Pitt Keen To Get Fight Club’s David Fincher On For ‘World War Z’ Sequel

Fans of Brad Pitt‘s scarf rejoice: a sequel to the 2013 zombie-apocalypse blockbuster World War Z is finally coming.

Yep, the second instillment to the $540 million-grossing film has always been in the works, but it got a bit derailed when the film lost its director J.A. Bayona to the Jurassic World franchise.

That could be a blessing in disguise: Pitt is reportedly honing in on old mate David Fincher to direct the sequel, which means the duo that gifted the world Se7en, Fight Club and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button would be back.

Variety reports that after initial lukewarm talks an offer has now been made, and this thing could be kicked into gear with filming starting early next year. The plot is entirely unknown, but as anyone who’s read the Max Brooks novel on which the film is based will now, it will be literally nothing like the books. Like, not a damn thing.

Finch hasn’t directed a feature film since 2014’s ‘Gone Girl‘, which had arguably one of the best opening sequences in recent years. So, yep, more of that pls.
