Bill & Ted’s Excellent Threequel Looks Like It’s Back On

Hey, how’s it going, Royal Ugly Dudes? According to Vulture, the threequel to Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventures and Bogus Journeys is back on with both Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves still attached to their titular roles as Bill S. Preston, Esq. and Ted ‘Theodore’ Logan.

Word of a trilogy first surfaced as far back as 2010, and original creators Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson have bucked the current trend for reboots (a most unprecedented expedition) in favour of writing an original script that deals with where our excellent friends would be in their lives 21 years in the future since their second movie, where everything isn’t great, the air, water and dirt aren’t any cleaner and all our waterslides are still hotbeds for communicable infections.

Galaxy Quest director Dean Parisot is the newest addition to the production having signed on to direct the script, but there are still all kinds of logistical studio hurdles to jump, including actually finding a studio to co-finance the as yet untitled film; as well as how you’d go about translating the concept of a phone booth to a contemporary audience. But hey, there’s probably an app for that. In the meantime, be excellent to each other, take a refresher course below and don’t get too bogged down in Conspiracy Keanu memes.
