My Dudes, ‘Bill And Ted’ Is Making A Return With A Bodacious New Movie

If you’ve felt like the world has been lacking a little something of late, you’d be right: the quality and quantity of comedies centred around idiot metalheads has dwindled drastically, and we’re all worse off for it.

But after months of speculation, we have some most excellent news: Bill And Ted is returning to the big screen for a bodacious threequel, a cool twenty-seven years after we last saw Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves shred their way through history.

Deadline reports Bill And Ted Face The Music, which is in pre-production, will feature the original stars.

The film will showcase the pair trying to make good on their destiny to save the world with their most righteous tunes, ‘cos the middle-aged duo haven’t yet pulled through. And they’ll seek help from their families (they have families now!) on their mission to write the sickest song ever.

Oh, and there will be plenty of time-travelling antics to fill out that mission. Of course.

There will be a whole world of guitar-based music to churn through on that journey – Bill And Ted’s Bogus Journey was released in the death throes of hair metal, and a few months before Nirvana’s Nevermind destroyed rock music as we knew it – so expect the duo to get a crash course in modern riffage. And probably Soundcloud rap.

We’ll keep you posted on new deets as they arrive, but for the time being, dig into this trailer for Excellent Adventure:
