A bulldog has gone viral on social media after he was photographed looking utterly crestfallen in isolation. Let me just say that I sharply inhaled when I first saw Big Poppa and then my heart imploded. Good stuff!
“Big Poppa has been so sad today, I think he misses playing with the kids in the building,” his human, Rashida Ellis, shared in the now viral tweet. “He just watches them from the patio.”
I mean, LOOK AT HIM.

Big Poppa sitting in a heap of sadness has crushed me. All I want to do is scale the wall, leap over the balcony, and hug him, and kiss him, and give him endless good boy pats. But I won’t, because of social distancing etc etc.
Ellis has been trying to cheer Poppa up with lots of love, but he’s still so sad.
“I’ve been trying, but he loves children more than anything and not being able to play with them daily but he can see them … I think it’s taking a toll on him,” she wrote on Twitter. UGH, my HEART.
Safe to say that Big Poppa has gone absolutely boonta online.
@WeRateDogs, your one and only source for professional dog ratings, tweeted: “I will find a cure myself if it means seeing Big Poppa smile again. 14/10.”
Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams tweeted the truth.

Speaking to BuzzFeed, Ellis revealed that Big Poppa’s actual name is simply Pop. He goes by Popsicle too. Pop is a three-year-old English bulldog, and he loves, loves, loves playing with the kids in Ellis’ building.
“He loves children and then other dogs and then adults,” Ellis told BuzzFeed. “In that order.”
When Ellis took the now viral picture of Pop, he had been staring down at some kids playing in the courtyard.
“He kept making noises to get their attention, but we’re six stories up and they can’t hear him,” Ellis said. “I was like, ‘Oh my god, he’s really sad.’”
Pop has an Instagram as well, in case you were wondering.
We must flatten the curve so Big Poppa can play with his mates again.
