Unpacking The Wild Story Behind Why Big Brother House Was Demolished & Moved To Sydney’s West

Most fictional TV series always proclaim that the home where the show is set is a character in and of itself. Well that might be somewhat true for shows like Charmed and Full House, but it’s especially true for reality show Big Brother as their house literally talks to its inhabitants and watches over everything they do.

As you’ll remember from the glory days of Big Brother, the house was set in Dream World on the Gold Coast. Whenever you visited the theme park, you could actually spy the house and take piccies of it. What a time to be alive!

Then as the show went bust, the house turned to shit, as revealed by a YouTuber in a chilling video.

Observe:

Then when the show was revived by Channel Seven, they built a new and improved Big Brother house at a warehouse in the Northern Beaches, but sadly they were forced to knock that one down as well (I’m sensing a curse here…) for a wild reason (literally!).

Daily Mail Australia reports that the house where seasons 1 and 2 of the rebooted Big Brother was set has been demolished, but it’s for a good cause.

Apparently the show was forced to knock it down after the National Parks and Wildlife Service handed them an eviction notice because of concerns for the local wildlife. I mean, fair enough!

This all went down before filming of the controversial celebrity version, Big Brother VIP, had begun filming. So where did the Z-listers end up jetting to for the series?

Well, according to TV Week, the third Big Brother house location is Sydney Olympic Park. The publication reached out to Seven, who confirmed that the show is filming out in Sydney’s West.

The ~celebs~ starring in Big Brother VIP include Caitlyn JennerOmarosa; 2021 villain Danny Hayes; former AFL captain Dayne Beams; actress and model Ellie Gonsalves; fashion designer and model Imogen Anthony (Kyle Sandilands‘ ex); Married At First Sight’s Jessika Power; model and Instagrammer Josh CarrollSurvivor King Luke Toki; NRL player Matt Cooper; former political advisor to Donald TrumpOmarosa; and Megan Markle’s older brother, Thomas Markle Jr.
