Big Boi, Common, Wale Enlisted For HBO’s Game Of Thrones Mixtape

Not everyone watches Game Of Thrones, you know.

HBO, sensing an apparent lack of viewers from what market researchers of the late 90s would refer to as the urban market have made proactive attempts to “encourage more rap fans to watch the show” with the release of an official GoT themed mixtape existing in the previously uncharted pop culture cross section between rap music and epic fantasy fiction novels.

Big Boi, Common and Wale are among the ten MCs enlisted to detail why Westeros Side is the Best Side for an HBO commissioned mixtape called Catch The Throne. According to the Wall Street Journal, sample lyrics from your boy Wale include “I’m tellin’ whoever messin’ with me, I can bring you that Khaleesi heat // Use my King, knack for words, as an actual sword I can decapitate a rapper.”

The production will consist of samples pulled from the show’s dialogue, sound and musical score (please replace all snares with dragon noises) and is set to be released this Friday.

Game Of Thrones season four premieres April 6th on HBO.
