Ughhhhhhhh the school holidays have finally ended meaning it’s time for another ~EXCITING SCHOOL YEAR~.

Thankfully it’s still nice as hell outside this time of year and summer still has some fuel left in it for the blessed non-schooling hours and weekends. To help you best plan for the rest of summer and to distract you from the joy of studying, here’s the best upcoming all-ages events and gigs in your state

NEW SOUTH WALES

Mardi Gras 

16th February – 3rd March

It’s the 40th anniversary of Australia’s biggest celebration of LGBTIQ greatness and whilst the official Cher-led after party is over 18 theres still heaps of all-ages events as part of the booming lineup.

The parade is of course open to literally all ages as well as family friendly Fair Day and a specific under-18 Mardi Gras day at Luna Park. (Psst Courtney Act is also for 15+ if you’re rents are chill).

Sydney City Limits

Saturday 24th February

Brought to you by the insanely well versed music heads behind Splendour and Falls fests comes this brand new music festival debuting this year: Sydney City Limits.

The local answer to Austin City Limits with homegrown headliners Vance Joy, Tash Sultana and everyone’s favs Gang of Youths, this ripper gig is also All Ages baby! Tix here.

QUEENSLAND

Lost City

Saturday 3rd March

Also popping into Sydney the weekend before, Lost City is a new U18s music festival hitting Brisbane Showgrounds and brought to you from the same peeps behind legendary All Ages fest Good Life.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA

Adelaide Fringe Festival

16th February – 18th March

Second only to Edinburgh Fringe Festival in pure mammoth size, the epic Adelaide Fringe is back in 2018 and there is a serious jackpot of free all-ages events.

Sure there’s heaps for the super young, with a whole section of the programme dedicated to young’uns for the more teenaged arts and culture fans there’s plenty to appeal such as this Harry Potter inspired ~magical~ scavenger hunt and this cool as hell looking underwater musical experience which is for 8 and up.

Ed Sheeran

Wednesday 7th March

Look we know it’s a school night but you guys love to whinge about how the big music tours always skip Adelaide and this is Ed bloody Sheeran we’re talking about so come on, you know you have to.

Fresh off a bunch of Grammy wins Ed will be hitting up Radelaide Oval the first week of March (ok not technically summer anymore, but shut up). Grab tix here.

AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY

Canberra Open Air Cinema

Until February 25

Summer nights can be sweaty sticky messes so get out of the house and spend the eve chilling in front of a huge outdoor screen and with some snacks delicately falling onto your chest.

Yep Canberra Open Air Cinema is back and running p much all through summer, with a mix of new releases, oldies and classics to tide you over. There’s a couple of MA15+ films but mostly its all ages fare, deets here.

WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Soggyfest

Saturday 10th March

Perth bbs get ready for an absolute rip-snorter of a new festival in the form of skate and dirty rock bonanza Soggyfest.

Headlined by heavy legends Toe-to-Toe and punk outfit Bare Bones, the debut festival will also see skateboarding demonstrations, street art and much more. Looks fkn sick tbh, grab deets here.
