If you have a predilection for dystopian YA fiction and aren’t already heavily invested in the series (where have you been hiding?), you’d be well advised to get on board with the filmic adaptations of Veronica Roth’s literary sensation, The Divergent Series, and its imminent second instalment, Insurgent.
For the uninitiated, The Divergent Series takes its narrative cues from the perilous journey of Shailene Woodley’s hair as it struggles to find a length that suits her best.
Kidding. Insurgent picks up where its predecessor left off with Tris (Woodley) and a cast of fugitives best described as ‘stacked’ (Theo James, Zoë Kravitz, Ansel Elgort and Miles Teller star opposite newcomers Naomi Watts and Octavia Spencer, as well as Australians Jai Courtney and Keiynan Lonsdale) on the run from an ice cold Kate Winslet and her homicidal pigeonholing tendencies. It’s a great time for everyone.
If that sounds like a situation you can get heavily involved with, we’re hosting three free exclusive screenings of Insurgent in three capital cities on March 18th ahead of its premiere the next day.
