It’s been a big time for the ‘Stranger Things‘ kids. Millie Bobby Brown and Finn Wolfhard are household names, Gaten Matarazzo is raising awareness of cleidocranial dysplasia, Caleb McLaughlin and Noah Schnapp keep appearing on late night talk shows rocking the hell out of a tux… it’s been big. Huge.
But you know who it hasn’t been a big time for? Barb. Otherwise known as Shannon Purser, but you probably wouldn’t know that, because Shannon is as forgotten as Barb is dead.
But now, for some good news! Shannon joined the rest of her castmates at the SAG Awards, where ‘Stranger Things’ beat out ‘Game of Thrones‘, ‘Westworld‘, ‘The Crown‘ and ‘Downton Abbey‘ to take out Best Ensemble in a Drama Series. And she looks absolutely goddamn stunning.
Gone are Barb’s dorky glasses, the gingham high-necked collar, the aura of being so lame that the coolest thing you ever did was give your friend the occasional lift and try to shotgun a beer once (it ended terribly).

Instead, she’s in a custom Christian Siriano dress and flanking her co-stars ‘Jean-Ralphio’s son’ and ‘really shit friend’ (Charlie Heaton and Natalia Dyer).
She was even included in the group shots… kinda.
Obviously, her ‘Stranger Things’ character is extremely dead, like really super duper dead, but you can catch her in Netflix‘s new angsty teen drama ‘Riverdale‘. It’s kinda like ‘Gossip Girl‘ mixed with ‘Veronica Mars‘ and also set in ‘Twin Peaks‘. Either that’s your thing or it’s not. But if Barb Shannon is your thing, better get watchin’.
