Barack Obama Has Given Drake His ‘Stamp Of Approval’ To Play Him In A Movie One Day

Barack Obama, Drake

Barack Obama has decreed that if a movie is ever made about his life, then he would be very happy for Drake to play the lead role, and honestly, if this bizarre timeline we’re living in includes a campaign for Drizzy to win Best Actor, I’m fully here for it.

In a recent interview with Complex, the former US president signalled his approval for the rapper, saying:

“I will say this, Drake seems to be able to do anything he wants. I mean, that is a talented, talented brother. So, if the time comes and he’s ready …”

When asked if Drake has his “stamp of approval”, he responded:

“Drake has, more importantly I think, my household’s stamp of approval. I suspect Malia and Sasha would be just fine with it.”

For what it’s worth, the admiration seems to be mutual, as Drake has also expressed an interest in playing Barack Obama. In an interview with Paper, he said:

“I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama’s life soon because I could play him. I watch all the addresses. Anytime I see him on TV, I don’t change the channel, I definitely pay attention and listen to the inflections of his voice. If you ask anyone who knows me, I’m pretty good at impressions. Slowly but surely, I’m not in the study mode because nobody’s called me about anything, but I just pay attention so when the day comes I’m not scrambling to learn how to speak like him.”

Parker Sawyers and Tika Sumpter portrayed Barack and Michelle Obama in the 2016 film Southside With You, which was about their first date in 1989, but there has not yet been a full-scale movie about the former president’s life.
