In case you weren’t fully aware, tonight is the first Wednesday night in literally months that we don’t have a new episode of the The Bachelor or The Bachelorette to sink our teeth into and the prospect of not having Osher Gunsberg on my screen has me borderline fucking maniacal.
I MISS YOU DADDY!
Well luckily for those, like me, readying themselves for a Oshy free summer, we’ve come across a pearler new online series which could very well fill the Bachy shaped void ahead of us.
The Housemate is a new Aussie series which trades out the erstwhile hunt for love and romance with the equally hellish process many Gen Y’ers have battled through in their 20s, looking for a new housemate.
Set in a sharehouse in Melbourne’s Richmond the show follows Alex and Gemma as they seek a new roomie via a Bachy-style reality show and it’s brimming with legit lols, thanks in part to its stellar cast of ladies with A+ comedy chops.
The show sticks painfully close to the style and structure of Straya’s fav reality show, with tacky af pre-written to-camera pieces, over-produced musical cues that would make even Mozart go “oof that’s a bit much” and a schmicko suited gent throwing out date cards.
