Azealia Banks Calls Out Nicki Minaj For Working With Controversial Rapper 6ix9ine

Controversial artist Azealia Banks has reignited her long-running feud with fellow rapper Nicki Minaj over her latest choice in collaborator.

Rapper 6ix9ine released a new song earlier this week called ‘Fefe’ along with an accompanying video which features Minaj (real name Onika Tanya Maraj). The collaboration was quick to cop some heavy backlash due to 6ix9ine’s previous allegations.

According to court documents obtained by Jezebel, 6ix9ine (real name Daniel Hernandez) previously plead guilty to using a child in a sexual performance. In October 2015, 18-year-old 6ix9ine filmed three videos of a 13-year-old girl that were uploaded online where the teenager can be seen completely nude, performing oral sex on another defendant, Taquan Anderson, with 6ix9ine making “a thrusting motion with his pelvis and [smacking] her on her buttocks.”

Now, Banks has taken to social media to slam Minaj for agreeing to work with Hernandez despite his conviction.

The 27-year-old recently left a comment on a clip from 6ix9ine and Minaj’s new video that read, “Lol the pedophile and the pedo apologist. LINK UP!” The ‘pedo apologist’ remark refers to Minaj’s silence on her brother’s sexual assault trial. Jelani Maraj was convicted of endangering the welfare of a child and predatory sexual assault on a child younger than 13 last year, People reveals.

Banks continued to blast Minaj via her Instagram Story and Twitter, writing:

“Wow . A new queen of rap is coming very very soon. The new criteria for being queen of rap is: As queen of rap you are responsible for protecting the rights, safety and well beings of young women of color, and as such, thou shall not associate with or lend your voice to known pedophiles as you send the message that it’s okay for 18 year old boys to fondle 13 year old girls and get away with it.”

“Thou shall not ever be that desperate for chart success that you basically slap all of your 8-15 year old fans and their moms in the face for allowing their daughters to listen.”

“Lol, I had no clue this was all going to unravel so quickly. The female rap landscape is changing rapidly. Hiphop is the only genre in modern times that normalizes sexual assault and physical abuse against women. It’s fucking sad”

“No shade …. it’s like this whole YouTube culture taken over music and everyone is going against their better judgment to try and cash in on it… I’m convinced some rappers would collab with David Duke if they felt it would chart. Despicable.”
