Azealia Banks Buries The Hatchet W/ Nicki Minaj Via An Apology Essay On Insta

Stop the presses: one of rap’s biggest beefs just got miraculously resolved.

It might be the extreme humbling courtesy newcomer Cardi B in the face of some undeserved negativity, or it might just be the moon doing something beautiful to her astrology – whatever the reason, eternal provocateur and noted brat Azealia Banks has slid into the DMs of Queen of Rap Nicki Minaj to say she’s sorry for being extremely fucking rude and mean to her.

Check this shit out:

The lengthy message reads:

Hey, I’m not sure if you will see this but I want to apologise for whatever catty shit I’ve said to and or about you in the past. I really do enjoy your artistry and think you’re so intelligent and clever. You have a really brilliant art mind and often times remind me a lot of myself.

Now that I’m growing up I’m realising a lot about what it means to be a strong woman and you’ve showed me nothing but strength and perseverance from day one. You deserve that Grammy, you deserve a rich Russian billionaire to sweep you off your feet so you never have to consort with these dingy n****s in hip-hop again.

Me working with Safaree was not in spite, but because of the never ending pressure the industry puts on us rap girls to be A+. I love your work and only assumed he played a role in your success but after meeting Safaree (who loves you to death) and watching his process I grew to respect you even more.

You have my word. That from here on out, I will never say any negative or catty things about you ever again.

Inside of all of us there’s a little black girl who cries and the last thing I want to see is that little black girl cry. Much much love and success.

In case you’d forgotten, Banks went in on Minaj’s looks back in 2016 in a bizarro Facebook rant that she later deleted – but screenshots are forever, and here they are:

Nevertheless, it looks like Nicki’s magnanimous outpouring of support for Cardi B and her chart-topping single – a beautiful moment of Shine Theory in action – has extended even to her former nemesis (and Cardi B hater, but that’s beside the point for now).

The Queen was just as gracious as you’d expect her to be, writing back to Banks with this succinct moment of forgiveness:

You’re very talented & very smart. Focus on what really matters from now on.

Awwww, you guys! Collab now please!!!
