Ay Caramba, Briggs Just Revealed He’s Writing For Matt Groening’s New Show

It’s true we’ve all been getting pretty het-up over the news that The Simpsons and Futurama mastermind Matt Groening will be producing a new animated comedy series, ‘Disenchantment’, for Netflix for 2018.

Well hold onto your butts because the endlessly brilliant Adam Briggs has announced that he’s gunna be one of the writers for the show. Yeah, I know.

Ho-ly SHIT, this is incredible.
It seems he’s having a bit of a minor nerdy freak-out over being included in the writing team, ‘cos he’s very clearly a Simpsons & Futurama fan.

If you’re not acquainted with Briggs’ sharp humour, he works on ‘The Weekly‘, and is a writer for ABC‘s ‘Black Comedy’. My absolute favourite segment he’s done recently was turning Tom Gleeson‘s Hard Chat on its head, renamed it ‘Black Chat’ and absolutely destroyed Gleeson in the process.

We played a cheeky round of Game Of Phones with Briggs at Splendour on the weekend, see if you can pick up his not-so-subtle nod to Matt Groening’s work.

Hell yeah mate, we’re all beside ourselves excited to see some Aussie representation in Groening’s work, make sure you take The Boot along with you.
