Here’s What You Get In The New ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Post-Credits Footage

Avengers: Endgame

At the tail end of its theatrical run, Avengers: Endgame stopped just $40 million short of nabbing the all-time number one position at the global box office, a spot that’s still held by Avatar.

Funnily enough, this weekend sees the release of a new version of Endgame with several minutes of additional post-credits footage, in an attempt to push the film over the line.

Robert Downey Jr, aka Iron Man, has been on Twitter recently, urging fans to “make history” by seeing Endgame again, so total box office domination is very clearly the goal here.

When promoting the extended cut of the film, Marvel head Kevin Feige promised that fans would get hear a few words from director Anthony Russo.

He also promised an “unfinished deleted scene” as well as a sneak peek of Spider-Man: Far From Home, the next entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

So what exactly do you get from the new release of Avengers: Endgame? Spoilers follow, obviously.

According to those who’ve seen the extended cut, the new footage includes an introduction from Russo, who thanks fans for seeing the film again and urges them to stay after the credits.

The first of the new additions is a tribute to Stan Lee, spliced together from behind-the-scenes footage of his cameos in the various MCU adventures.

There’s also a deleted scene in which the Hulk rescues people from a burning building, but the CGI is incomplete, so his lips don’t move and he looks like a chunky PS2-era video game character.

Finally, there’s  a short clip from Spider-Man: Far From Home in which Maria Hill and Nick Fury arrive in Mexico to meet Jake Gyllenhaal‘s Mysterio.

So there you have it. The Spider-Man footage sounds intriguing, although it seems we won’t be seeing the fabled deleted scene in which Iron Man talks to his grown-up daughter.

Still, if you’re keen to check out the re-release of Avengers: Endgame, you’re in luck, as it will be showing in selected Hoyts cinemas around Australia this weekend.
