Australia’s Most Loved and Hated Celebs Announced

Media and entertainment mag Encore has announced Australia’s crème de la crème and murky dregs of the celebrity world, as judged by you guys. As one of the most extensive surveys ranking the best and worst on-air celebs to ever be carried out, the “Encore Score” was created after the magazine spoke to around 3000 opinionated Aussies. The “celebrities” they were and were not digging got combined with a tricky love+hate mathematical algorithm resulting in these telling scores.

Everyone’s favourite Boy from Oz/Wolverine Hugh Jackman was voted as the actor closest to our hearts, and Packed to the Rafters Oz television stalwart Julie Rafter Rebecca Gibney got runner up.

To no one’s surprise Kyle Sandilands was crowned most disliked, although we seem to be more forgiving of his radio chum Jackie O who didn’t make the list. Considering his ‘career’ started by using a false resume to impress a Brisbane radio station Exec, this title is something else to add to his dubious CV.

With Matthew Newtown taking out second place for obvious reasons, it’s interesting to note that most of the ‘disliked’ list have attempted career resurrections or public image boosts through reality TV appearances on shows like The Celebrity Apprentice and Dancing with the Stars. Looks like their intentions have had the exact opposite effect, hey Deni Hines?

Without further ado, here are the results:
