Australia Loses Bradley Cooper and ‘Paradise’

Earlier this week we reported that Bradley Cooper would be bringing sexy down-under for the eagerly-anticipated Alex Proyas adaptation of John Milton’s 17th Century epic “Paradise Lost” to be filmed at Fox Studios in Sydney.

Some of us were pretty excited about the possibilities of #CooperStalk, and even more so about Proyas’ use of barely there modesty-preserving vine leaves motion-capture technology to bring life to Milton’s surefire stunner of a text, however, Variety is now reporting that the Legendary Pictures production has fallen from grace due to – guess what? – budget issues.

Sources close to the production say that although the director’s vision was great, it wasn’t matched by the technology on offer and the budget restrictions imposed by the producers.

The film was due to star Bradley Cooper, Ben Walker, Casey Affleck, Djimon Hounsou, Rufus Sewell, Camilla Belle, Diego Boneta and Callan McAuliffe. Feel free to mourn this one for a while.
