There’s A Cheeky ‘Arrested Development’ Easter Egg In ‘Infinity War’

If you weren’t violently sobbing during the credit scenes of Avengers: Infinity War you may have noticed something rather curious roll on by. A few seconds before the end-of-credits scene, Marvel Studios and Disney thanked 20th Century Fox for allowing them to use one of the characters from Arrested Development in the film.

What, where, when, who was my exact thinking but it happened. Somewhere in those glorious two hours and forty minutes, the Russo brothers managed to squeeze in Tobias Fünke.

And not just a random Tobias being his usual weird self but a blue-skinned Tobias.

Don’t give yourself a hard time if you don’t remember seeing him pop up, it is a cheeky Easter egg after all.

If you’re still feeling a little blue from the film and can’t rustle up the memory, blue-skinned Tobias is from the AD episode where he attempts to join the Blue Man Group. A musical troupe of men painted blue. The entire episode was just completely wild so it makes sense that if he was going to rock up as an Easter egg in an Avengers film, he’d be a part of the Collector’s collection.

A blue-skinned Tobias is literally just chilling in one of the glass display cases wearing the cut-off jeans and looking none too pleased with himself.

And thanks to some seriously devoted and eagle-eyed fans, we have a screenshot.

I honestly don’t remember this at all.

This particular scene came about as the Guardians headed to Knowhere to face off against Thanos.

If you didn’t know, directors Joe and Anthony Russo used to be part of the ol’ AD team back in the day. Between them, they directed 14 episodes including the pilot.

This also isn’t the first time the Russo’s have hit us in the sweet spot. In Captain America: Civil War the Bluth family stair car was just casually parked on the tarmac during the epic airport battle scene.

…you may have been distracted by Captain America.

Avengers: Infinity War is in cinemas now… if you wanna put yourself through some major feels.
