Armie Hammer’s Distractingly Large Balls Were Digitally Removed From Film

There’s now two more (or less, depending on your depravity) reasons to get swept up in the Oscar’s buzz surrounding Call Me By Your Name: lead star Armie Hammer’s bulging balls were so eye-grabbing they had to be digitally removed from scenes.

The news came about during a press circuit featuring Armie, director Luca Guadagnino, as well as co-stars Timothée Chalamet and Michael Stuhlbarg.

Given the film’s prolific press coverage recently, maybe Armie was tired of talking about the same things again and again. Sometimes you want a break from chatting about how Call Me By Your Name is by all-accounts (and I can personally vouch) a really moving and sensual AF film about same-sex love and desire, and what it’s like to bring a book so many people love to life.

Sometimes you just gotta devote a solid minute to how Armie’s array of minuscule shorts he wears throughout the film – set during the prime season of steamy 80s Italian summer – were a real problem. They continually sought freedom and demanded attention

“They were short shorts, what are you going to do?,” he said.

In case you were still a little confused, Luca weighed in to helpfully suggest that “it’s both things”, to which interviewer Andy Cohen clarified, “short shorts and big balls? Wow. Armie Hammer has big balls, that’s what you’re saying.”

Luca tried to save face, but no, that was unequivocally what he meant.

So now, next time you’re talking celeb trivia, trump everyone with the double-whammy of Hammer’s big balls and well-documented love for BDSM. You could never call him shy.

To spot whether Armie’s normal-sized bulge is as horrendously obvious of a CGI job as Henry Cavill’s digitally-removed moustache in Justice League, you’ll have to wait until Boxing Day for CMBYN’s release. But spoiler: no. Nothing will ever top that upper lip.

You can watch the interview segment below: it’s worth it for Armie’s hand gestures, which really paint a picture of the logistics of the short short situation. Here’s the trailer, too, for good measure.
