One day on from the tragic news of Mac Miller‘s death, Ariana Grande, the rapper’s former girlfriend, has shared a touching tribute to him on Instagram.
The singer, who was forced to disable comments yesterday after some pretty appalling trolling, shared a simple but beautiful black and white photograph of him sitting on the grass.
The image, which was shared without a caption, racked up more than a million likes in the twenty minutes after it was posted.
Ariana Grande and Mac Miller dated for almost two years before announcing their separation in May, but appeared to be on good terms with one-another.
Speaking about Grande’s engagement to comedian Pete Davidson, Miller said:
“The whole thing is a little strange but it’s not negative […] I am happy for her and moving forward with her life just as I’m sure she is with me.”
A source close to Grande told Entertainment Tonight that she shared a “deep connection” with her ex and has “always been supportive of his sobriety.”
Miller, who was 26, was found dead in his home yesterday after an apparent overdose.
Police sources say that there were other people at the property with him between Thursday and Friday, when 911 was called, but nobody saw him alive after Thursday evening.
